Clinical presentation and co-pathologies in neuropathologic Lewy Body disease Lead Investigator: Sarah Monsell Institution : NACC E-Mail : smonsell@uw.edu Proposal ID : 356 Proposal Description: At autopsy, Lew bodies (LBs) are often found in the presence of other pathologic features. For example, Alzheimer's disease pathology co-occurs with LBs in 15-36 of neuropathologically diagnosed LB cases (10). It may be that the co-occurrence and severity of these additional pathologies can explain some of the heterogeneity in the clinical presentation of LB pathology, which could in turn guide diagnosis and treatment of these patients. In this analysis, we plan to compare the clinical characteristics of subjects with LB pathology by predominant Lewy Body location and the presence and severity of co-occurring pathologic features captured on the NACC Neuropathology form. Clinical characteristics of interest from the UDS include neuropsychological test scores, neuropsychiatric and motor features, and disease onset characteristics.
